when we experience the extreme
fading into an elusive dream
when all is lost and gone away
our inner conviction must hold our day
we know the other side of the coin
to this we must give our all and join
believe in our inner goodness
our connection to all in our fullness
no matter what we have done or what time we have lost
courage is to reach for the hope inside at no cost
the life-giving water…the energy of who we are
crystallizing our love from ages afar
speak to yourself as the love ripples through
be still…breathe…connect to the genuine you
I love it and shared on my Facebook page.

My parents forced me and rarely attended themselves. There was no way to get out of it. Had perfect attendance at Presbyterian church for 15 years. I have rarely attended since but the imprints remains: My roots. My strength . My compass.

Your beautiful poem makes me think of a colleague. He told me this week about the challenges he’s facing following the break up of his marriage. I told him that I’ve found that while I didn’t appreciate or like the hurdles I’ve gone thru that I did emerge stronger once I’d passed thru them … and I hope that he – and you – do the same.

dear Judy~thank you for your encouraging words…and, yes, you are correct…we are made stronger by our struggles…and stronger by supportive people like you and your kind words…i have found it is so important to take time to be with me…to go to my center…and find LOVE when I cannot experience it around myself…it helps me to see we all suffer from time to time…I read a beautiful book last summer, RECONCILIATION, by the Vietnamese Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hahn. This has helped me so much!

I need some time to chew on this one. It is deep, or maybe I am just shallow at the moment.

Miss Betty, you are way too hard on yourself! YOU are NOT shallow — NOT BY A LONG SHOT! So, Friend, stop saying that about yourself! You have a heart of gold and a sense of joy that is wonderful to behold! Taking time to reflect before responding is a good thing!

This is an inspiring piece, thanks for posting it….and for following my blog, which led me back here.
And, regarding an earlier comment, yes, water–along with all other things–has memory. Since the body consists mostly of water, holding good thoughts is of utmost importance. Good thoughts of love, harmony, success, kindness, joy, pleasure….all the positive things life, the univers, and everything has to offer. I wish these things to all.
