for Shane…

Shane

the heavens dipped down and snatched you from us

no more drinking from the sorrows of life’s  chalice

Prometheus flown into the sky…

leaving us with tears in our eyes

the angels saw your light and took you home

peace and love are now your throne

we humans here below

were blessed with your angelic glow

you had passion deep within your heart

you gave your best right from the start

we will carry on your dream

the promise you left us in between

  6. Thank you, Paul..We all lost a gentle soul…i guess we can honor him by continuing to be his light in our words…Shane’s mind was brilliant…he was ever so gentle and kind.

  7. I only knew Shane through WordPress. But he reached out to me just several months ago, when I knew barely anyone on WordPress–even though I had been on since October, 2011. He gave me the courage to keep writing—he was 23 and I am 63–I was amazed at his insight and depth of writing. He suffered so much…now he is at peace…but I will miss very much.

    • dear Superduque, Shane was a wonderful, young man of 23….I can only think he is now helping us all be better writers to continue where he left off…He encouraged me to write! He was such a gentle soul!

  10. Jane – I stumbled in right from the start. I was at Ann Johnson Murphree’s blog and noted she had reblogged something but didn’t really pay much attention to what I was going to be reading. I knew, two lines in you were there and that it was not going to be an easy read. It would be gentle but hard on my soul all-the-same. I found myself choking; how could I feel I was in among the whispeing pines of a cemetery when I didn’t know Shane had left this earth. I wanted to retreat, but couldn’t. I read to the end and then read again. The pines still whisper in the light wind but I’m in my office and the a/c is going. Your power with words never ceases to amaze me.

    • dear Sheri, Oh, my heart bled when I learned that our dear Shane had died…I am sorry for your loss…I know you read him also. So young and so much promise–I marveled at all that he had written…the depth and understanding. I can hardly take it in…it is too much. He was one of us and saw more than me…he lived through so much pain and suffering…and so the scars created a very loving heart!
