the dark night of the soul is upon me
torn between the now and the longing
God you breathe though all of me
Though all those I am with
Through all those on this Mother Earth
Help us to be open to YOU
and BE with us
humanity is suffering
our children everywhere are dying
dying because their skin is a different color
dying because one thinks their religion is superior to the other
dying because of our greed
dying because we are so empty inside of ourselves
dying because we have forgotten how to share
dying because of our self-centeredness
dying because we lack love of self, and so cannot love others
God we ask YOU to breathe Your Love into us
Help us to love each other
Help us to be open and receive
We need Your Light in this world
Help us to be Light-carriers to one another
empty us of our false images
empty us of our hate
empty us so we can be filled with Your LOVE

each woman in this world is my friend
each man in this world is my friend
we all share the same color of blood
we all share the air we breathe
and that breath is YOUR LOVE
there is enough food for all
there is enough water for all
there is enough land for all
help us to tear down our boundaries
and open our hands to receive Your Love
help us to open our hands so that others can freely take from us
without stipulations, reservations, demands
You, God, are the Gentle Love that breathes into us
Mother Earth has provided life for us
Let us share that life with each other
Forgive us and help us to be FOR giving…
to BE…for this God created all (Wisdom I:14)

Amy, I had to write something positive and hopeful and I was praying it as I wrote it…it just seems that there is so much suffering…unbelievable suffering. Ran out for groceries for the grandchildren tonight, and heard on NPR about the falsely accused Ukranian woman who was tortured and humiliated and physically abused by her neighbors, as the separatists forced her to wear a sign, saying she killed their children. And she was innocent! She was 53 years old. It just seems people have become more barbaric. Compassion and respect for the human person is leaving us quickly! Fear is replacing common decency. Blessings on your week, Amy!
Sincerely, Jane

dear Barbara,
Your blog is beautiful and each time I visit it, I am in awe of what you present. You have personally helped me with your committed kindness and openness that is so evident in your blog! You are a beautiful soul who has helped me and I am sure, many others, heal. Thank you! I live in rural Wisconsin– you are welcome if you ever want to venture into the off roads of the USA! I will always have a room for you and a cup of coffee/tea ready for you! “My home is your home!”

Powerful stuff. I try to live never to be the source of anyone’s misfortune and never pass up an opportunity to perform a charitable act. If we can do just those two things……Thanks visit my blog.

dear Carl,
You have given me new inspiration to live those two ideals of yours! They are admirable and you are so right, we should try to live our lives so as not to hurt or offend others and do whatever good we can, when able. If we all did just those two things–just imagine our world! Thank you for your visit and your compliments! Blessings!
