humanity’s dream

“Yesterday we obeyed kings
and bent our necks before emperors.
But today we kneel only to truth,
follow only beauty,
and obey only love.”

the sun rose in brilliance
golden streaks woke up across the sky
soft pastels of blue danced around the hue
on the water below lights sparkled in delight
as the children’s laughter filled the shore
the whispering waves saintly dove across each other
echoing crystals of love
carrying us intimately into being

Mothers love…even when it hurts

what can a Mother do

even if it means being misunderstood

what can a Mother do

but protect her child’s womanhood

*

what can a Mother do

when she sees her child hurt

what can a Mother do

but try to provide her comfort

*

what can a Mother do

but sacrifice her own joy for the safety of her child

what can a Mother do

even if it means her exile

what can a Mother do

even if she is reviled

what can a Mother do

but love her child
