I planted that tree when it was only a foot tall about 25 years ago…it is nice that the Mourning Doves find it comfortable! The photo on my I-phone looked better than what appeared on WordPress. I do not know what happened to the sharpness of the photo. Glad you like the photo! My daughter, from Bellingham, is home for a few days. There was a wedding on Saturday of one of her friends. So we are having a good visit! I have missed her!

Yes, the birds seemed quite content~ I planted the tree along side my driveway about 15 years ago, when it was just a foot high. I am glad the Mourning Doves find it comforting.

I love mourning doves…perhaps because I first really listened to them when on vacation near the ocean their calls make me think of rest and peace. We have a nesting pair in our yard and they like our bird feeder (but not our dog!) and I enjoy sitting on my back porch listening to them. Love your picture.

Hello Joan, thank you for your comment and visit! Yes, I love mourning doves…when I first moved here we had hundreds! Then the ill-informed governor allowed the hunting of these gentle birds. Really!!! WHY? There is not enough meat on them to justify it for a meal! It saddened my heart the day the legislation went through—and now I only see a couple of the birds in this subdivision.
