the shoelace belongs to the shoe
tied to it, you might say
the lover belongs to the fool
accepting whatever comes that day
the spoke belongs to the wheel
running in circles every which way
the moss belongs to the tree
stretching and climbing in play

Thank you so much, Cindy! So kind of you to read me and take the time to write a comment…thank you! I am sure you are referring to the photo. I took the photo near Mayfield Lake in the state of Washington. I was so amazed when I saw how the lichen grew! I needed that today…I am so incredibly sad about the reults of thw recent election.
