wandering in the shadows

it is five o’clock this July morning

opening my eyes to the summer moment

instead of the warm sun of the past two weeks

my eyes found a heavy fog laying across the hills

just a hint of the trees poking through

no clear image…no clear direction…

how often do i wander in the shadows?

the wondering soul

whimsical beautiful you

sung by the lonesome guitar

gentle  you

walk among the creatures of Mother Earth

willing to go the difficult distance for rebirth

your hazel eyes

ever reaching for the majestic stars

seeker of truth and honesty … you ride the streetcar

at once alone…seemingly forgot…but not… you stand strong

willing to risk and jump the bar…bicycling like the running  jaguar

all through the day and the nightlong you sing your song

perplexed by humans who are so bizarre

yet your kind silence is your guard

your sense of humor carries the memoir

leaving no traces of the scarred

willing to rid yourself of the eschar

you search and never falter

gentle, helpful you…loving and loved afar

you have given your sacrifice to the altar
