between now…

and the next time…

life continues on

with anticipating rhyme

between n

ow…

and the next time…

ideas bombarding one another

will you still be mine?

between now…

and the next time…

lightning strikes

amid the sublime

Dedicated to…

 Mary Lois Alford

Love carries the heart to places it should not go

Deep within the recesses of the waves

Perspicacious judgment leaves the moment

Longing for the want as the water moves to and fro

Who is this woman

who captivates the heart?

Salient dreams nourish the gentle graciousness…

As the coy smile appears on her lips…

Demeanor revealing  the finer art!

The plaintive cry of the Salish Sea…

Woman so strong…mesmerizing…calling

Yet deftly refraining…beckoning me onward…

Quietly drifting over the stream to me

Demise of Love

tears

drop petal-like

in the Spring retreat

easy smiles

drift into waves

of nothingness

delightful blossoms

fragrant perfume

now nothing fills

the empty room

Learning from Loss

Moon

Moon (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Anguish is real, pain is felt deep.

Within the walls, cells migrate from one organ to the other.

In between the emotions beat their constant rhythm…

The heart finds no sleep!

What is this love that has taken hold of me?

Where my heart felt good–

When I spoke with you?

Then you asked to be set free!

Laughter left my lips…

The smile inside departed.

Combat began within…

Love had been clipped.

Emotions ran me foolish,

While reality set in.

As fleeting as the Spring blossoms

From me your love was banished.

What have I learned?

Love is fleeting…

Life is real…

Sometimes we get burned.

Love found….life gained…love lost…life pained.

Live through it…Rise above it!

What is this IT?

Love is elusive…the moon has waned.

Springtime

the green of the leaves

lightly  dances in the  rain

Spring has come again

Solitude…2001

Deep within the heart of God we are

Even when we wander very far

Listen to your Inner Voice

When confronted with a choice

Step aside from the crowd

May your decision keep you proud

Listen to your Inner Voice

When confronted with a choice

Many things are good within themselves

Question when we take them off the shelves

Listen to your Inner Voice

When confronted with a choice

Be true to the GIFT within

Courage and grace will help you win

Listen to your Inner Voice

When confronted with a choice

No one likes to be alone

With God you always have a home

Listen to your Inner Voice

When confronted with a choice

Remembering…

For the Day of Remembering…November 11th…honoring all those who have given their life  while serving in the military…I remember my brother, Roger, an Airman, who died while serving in the Air Force in 1955…in an aviation explosion near Iceland. He died with 8 other men that day.

Remembering…

You speak enchantment, dear Poppy, mystically alive…

FREEDOM… in the face of wind you dive

Delicate your tender petals of courageous love

Our spirits find peace in the Holy Dove

Your petals open to courage… your red courage for all

The hero is called forth…you respond to the call

Life is given … life is fought …life is extinguished

Despair must relinquish

Circumstances seem forlorn

Resurrection lives deep within you… new hope is born

Your glory triumphs as you color the field

Grief and sorrow to you must yield

Solitude

silent sounds strengthen

                  the smALLness

                                        in finding one’s heart

whispering waves

waver… wander…wonder

LOVE

heart longing to be

beyond within

travel  through  transformation

A Plethora of Taste or I Love to Eat in August!

Relish the crispy, crunchy cucumber…

Live through the explosive flavor as the corn is squirting in your mouth

Savor the warm…tender…juicy…cherry tomatoes…

Contemplate the zealous zucchini!

Appraise the plethora of peppers: green, yellow, orange, red rainbow of succulence!

Regard this August as the best month of the year!

Deliberate the taste…

Contemplate the consummation of the summer food at its height!

The tangy tongue considers…and moves forward….

Wrapping up every last flavor!
